About the Collection – madeinsane
Launched in September 2021, madeinsane is a conceptual unisex clothing collection from Sanatorium, created in collaboration with clothing designer Eline Dragesund and creative consultant Jens Carlos Schwartz.
The Concept
madeinsane = Work in progress / “The coat evolves as you go”
This collection reflects Sanatorium’s distinct and uncompromising creative DNA — “It’s not for everyone.”
Here, the 2021 individual meets raw creativity and artistic madness in an expressive, flexible, and unconventional wardrobe.
Design Philosophy
Every garment functions as a modular, off-white canvas, encouraging users to:
Paint, cut, tear, burn, soil, draw, tie — transform.
The pieces are ultra-dynamic and designed for personal interpretation, evolving alongside their wearer.
The Aesthetic
“Lab coat meets straitjacket.”
In madeinsane, the spirit of 1921 meets 2021, combining street culture with conceptual tailoring. This is more than a fashion collection — it’s a lifestyle manifesto.
All pieces are hand-sewn in Oslo in limited numbers by designer Eline Dragesund, reinforcing the value of local craftsmanship and intentional design.
