Eftir is a café and lifestyle retail concept that champions sustainability and circular values. Located in an urban setting, Eftir offers a warm and inviting space where guests can enjoy delicious food and shop for clothing, art, and interior goods — all curated with a strong ethical and environmental focus.

The heart of the project is a new circular packaging system, designed to replace traditional disposable takeaway packaging made from paper or plastic. By shifting the mindset from consumption to care, Eftir aims to set a new standard for sustainable hospitality.

The journey began one spring day, when two women with a shared passion for the environment decided to create what they felt was missing in the cityscape. Today, Eftir is a reality — and a movement.

The name Eftir, which means “after” in Icelandic, is a nod to reuse. Instead of “use and throw away”, Eftir invites people to keep, care for, and extend the life of the things they love.
