About the Collection – madeinsane
Launched in September 2021, madeinsane is a conceptual unisex collection born from the creative collaboration between Sanatorium, fashion designer Eline Dragesund, and creative consultant Jens Carlos Schwartz.
The Concept
madeinsane = Work in progress / “The coat evolves as you go”
Each piece in the collection is a blank canvas — off-white, raw, and adaptable, inviting the wearer to cut, paint, tear, soil, draw, burn, or tie. The garments are ultra-dynamic and designed for personal interpretation, encouraging expression over conformity.
DNA & Aesthetic
True to Sanatorium’s unapologetic identity — “It’s not for everyone” — the madeinsane line walks the edge between lab coat and straitjacket, embodying a street-influenced fusion of 1921 and 2021.
With a clear lifestyle-over-fashion mindset, this collection does not follow trends — it provokes them.
Craftsmanship
Every garment is hand-sewn in Oslo by Eline Dragesund in limited numbers, blending artisanal precision with conceptual experimentation. The collection extends Sanatorium’s existing aesthetic universe — where madness meets mastery, and fashion becomes a living, evolving act.
