In recent years, several Northern Norwegian dance artists have emerged and truly made their mark. Karianne Andreassen is one of those who has made a strong impression and who, in a short time, has transitioned from being an unfamiliar face to becoming firmly established.
Karianne has worked with Simone Grøtte on GLEMT and Å klore seg fast, with KATMA on Ritsj and UTSIKT, produced her own performance OPP/HAV which was shown during CODA last year, and is currently involved as a dancer in no less than four new productions before summer.
Karianne possesses impressive capacity and a burning passion for making a difference through art. She is the kind of person who inspires through her physicality and strength – yet also her humility and sense of wonder; someone who, through her presence alone, has the power to move an entire audience.
In this conversation, we talk about seizing opportunities, about learning, inspiration, and how to build a sustainable career.
