Erling Johansen – Explorer, Leader, Model & Nature Enthusiast
Born in 1964, Erling Johansen has led a dynamic life at the intersection of business, culture, and nature. With decades of experience as a project manager and board chair for a variety of organizations both in Norway and abroad, Erling is no stranger to challenges—and he thrives on human connection. Deeply drawn to transformation and innovation, he has served as the Honorary Consul of Latvia for over 20 years, closely witnessing the major geopolitical shifts across Europe.
His international career has taken him to the Balkans and beyond, and with a curiosity that spans continents, Erling has focused heavily on Europe, Asia, and the Americas—while now setting his sights on Africa. A lifelong passion for music, photography, literature, and history has shaped his creative side. He plays several instruments, writes, and has led The Norwegian Association of Whisky Connoisseurs for nearly four decades, with a soft spot for single malt whisky and frequent pilgrimages to Scotland.
In recent years, Erling has chosen a more grounded path—less time behind a desk and more in nature. Whether it's at his cabin in Heidal, hiking, kayaking, or skiing, he finds joy in simplicity and movement. A deep interest in Svalbard has brought him north on multiple occasions, where he guides wilderness tours and embraces life under the Arctic sky—often sleeping in tents and traveling on skis.
Modeling and acting have naturally become an extension of his lifestyle. Whether portraying a wise man, a Viking warrior, or a friendly grandfather, Erling is regularly booked for photo and film projects that tap into his connection with nature and authentic presence. His rugged appearance and innate calm make him a natural fit for campaigns related to outdoor life and gear—but he’s equally at ease donning a tailored suit for fashion assignments.
Erling prefers to be himself in front of the camera: sometimes barefoot, sometimes in a tunic with his didgeridoo, and sometimes dressed up—always grounded, always curious. He brings warmth, reliability, and a collaborative spirit to every project, and he thrives when working with inspiring people who share his love for craft and storytelling.
